When you're shopping online, you and another person could be buying the exact same item and you'll pay more because of who you are, where you are, and your purchase history. Pricing has gone high tech. What we're seeing is big tech sort of reinventing the ripoff. The new realities of surveillance pricing and tips to avoid it. That's this week on the Life Kit podcast from NPR.

Listen in the NPR app or wherever you get your podcasts. This is Fresh Air. I'm Terry Gross. Our guest today is actor Rose Byrne. Known for both drama and comedy.

She's now one of the few actresses to be nominated for an Oscar and a Tony in the same year. She's currently on Broadway in the revival of the Noel Coward play Fallen Angels. She spoke with Fresh Airs and Marie Baldonado. When Rose Byrne appeared on American TV in 2007 in the show Damages, it was clear she was a dramatic force. Playing opposite Glenn Close, she was nominated for two Emmys and two Golden Globe Awards.
