We may be at the end of the venture capital industry. Five US firms captured 73.1% of all LP commits in the first quarter of this year. This is the era of consensus capital. Basically the end of a 50, 60 year run of an industry or a a craft business. And that won't be the first time that a craft business has gone extinct.
I don't think that the uh demand for medium sized firms is is going to disappear. It probably will increase. It's difficult to make uh returns work at a very high uh level and then it's also I think difficult for founders to um you know work with uh enormous g uh bla behemoths of uh a venture firm. The math may just cease working in the venture capital business.
