in the description to this episode, but for now I'll hand you over to your guys to Dublin, Paul Bloomfield and historian Gillian O'Brien. And Paul started by asking Gillian about her connection to Dublin and what makes the city so exciting. Well I'm from very close to Dublin and grew up with you know trips to Dublin most weekends and went to university. in Dublin and I've always had a fascination with the city, which I have spent quite a lot of time researching. And I think it's sort of the multi-layered aspect to the city that you can dip it at various points.
There's the literature, there's certainly drama and warfare and conflict. And it's a city that hasn't always been comfortable with its own identity. And I think that's really interesting in how it struggled with its identity and I think is somewhat more comfortable with it now than it was in the past. Well it's interesting you talk about identity, which is often linked with names and of course Dublin's name has a a a long history as well.
