In your new book, Blood Dawn You write that in standard narratives of the second world war, Europe has traditionally served as the focal point that United States and the United Kingdom stand as heroic saviors of freedom and democracy. The war in Asia, by contrast, has quite often been seen as as a bit of a sideshow. It's that while you've written the book as a kind of corrective. to this Western centric approach to writing histories of the second world war. You're absolutely right.
