If you are a listener
Paste the episode's Apple Podcasts link above. When the transcript is ready you can download it as plain text, text with timestamps, .srt and .vtt subtitles, and word-level JSON, or select all of it and copy. Subtitles (.srt, .vtt) are handy for video editors; JSON carries the time of every single word.
If it is your own show
- Sign in to Apple Podcasts Connect and open the episode.
- Under Audio and Transcripts, download the transcript Apple generated.
- To correct it, edit the file and publish it in your RSS feed with the
podcast:transcripttag (VTT or SRT), then set the episode to display the transcript you provide. Apple's automatic transcripts cannot be edited inside Connect.
Subscriber-only episodes are the exception: for those, upload the VTT or SRT file directly in Connect.
What Apple gives listeners instead
Apple built its transcripts for reading along while you listen: the text follows the audio, you can search within the episode, and you can share short quotes that link back to it. A file is only offered to the show's creator.
